Latvia

Discover Latvia, a small Baltic country, which is bordered by Estonia to the north, Lithuania to the south, Russia to the east and Belarus to the southeast.

Latvia’s capital city is Riga. Legend has it that Riga is a city full of cultural and historic attractions. Riga’s Central Market is one of Europe’s biggest markets. It is famed for its pavilions housed in giant zeppelin hangars left behind by the German army after World War I.

With almost 20 hours of daylight at midsummer, make the most of summer holiday by partying outdoors and relaxing in nature. There’s over 500km of coast and Latvia has many beaches that are open and welcoming to the public.

Slovakia

Right in the heart of Europe, Slovakia is a land of castles and mountains. The capital city of Bratislava draws visitors to its resplendent old town and tankard-clanking drinking culture. The old Gothic town reflects Renaissance finery but in modern times have since welcomed statues, boutiques and modish cafes. With nature on its doorstep, the city banks the Danube River, only a few kilometres from the Austrian border.

If you’re hoping to explore, visit the High Tatras, the tallest range in the Carpathian Mountains. Walk along the waterfalls, alpine meadows and more than 100 ultramarine lakes. In winter, snow transforms hiking trails into ski areas, mostly small and family-friendly.
