DISCOVER EVERYTHING YOU NEED FOR YOUR TOURING ADVENTURE AT THIS YEARS HOLIDAY WORLD SHOW

Ireland’s biggest ever Caravan and Motor Home exhibition will be at the RDS from January 22nd to January 24th

‘Check in two hours prior to your flight’ ‘no more than 15kg of luggage allowed’ ‘ensure some necessary hand luggage items in case of lost baggage’ ‘your hotel to airport transfer takes 1 hour please do not be late for pick up’ just a few of the problems that can arise with package holidays. The Caravan & Motor Home Show which will be held at the R.D.S. Simmonscourt from Friday 22nd January to Sunday 24th January offers holiday makers an alternative to the pressures of the package.

Caravanning is now a popular holiday choice for couples and families and groups as they are fun, affordable, and give you the freedom to discover new places. This year the demand for caravanning and touring holidays has risen dramatically as more people discover the great benefits, freedom, flexibility and adventure that they can bring.

A popular choice that doesn't break the bank, touring holidays are relaxing and much more economical than other holiday types, with lower accommodation, entertainment and food costs. . There are hotels and self catering apartments offered as part of package deals that would struggle to meet the standards and amenities of a mid budget caravan or motor home.
The exhibitors at this year’s show have ensured that there is something on offer for all tastes and budgets.

The Caravan & Motor Home Show is Ireland’s number one indoor and outdoor display of luxurious motor homes, caravan holiday homes, touring caravans, and accessories. All the major brands will be on display, and most exhibitors have special SHOW ONLY discount deals available for visitors meaning unbeatable deals on 1,000’s on models, accessories and gadgets.

The show will also highlight the availability of home comforts in many caravans and motor homes such as flat screen TVs, microwaves, large fridges and power showers meaning holiday makers don’t have to sacrifice certain luxuries if they opt to tour instead of confining themselves to one location for the duration of their holiday.

While the event will have major equipment and accessory displays it will also have the experts on hand to advise visitors on any aspect of caravanning, camping and outdoor life. This includes home and overseas sites, parks, travel, insurance and financial services, weather and route planning, in fact all sorts of practical help.

So for a great day out visit Ireland’s favourite ‘Caravan & Motor Home Show’ at the 2010 Holiday World Show, with a great selection of caravans, motorhomes and holiday homes, it is your last chance to see all the latest models; grab some accessories at bargain prices; and enjoy a great day out to kick-start your 2010 season.

HOW CLEAN IS YOUR SUITCASE?

1.00pm Friday 15 January, KIM WOODBURN opens Holiday World 2010
She has cleaned up the nation’s filthiest homes … tackled those who are ‘too posh to wash’ … and, most recently was the fabulous and feisty runner-up in ‘I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here’.
This month television’s Kim Woodburn will have the world at her feet as she officially opens the 2010 Belfast Telegraph Holiday World show at the King’s Hall in Belfast.

Given her hectic schedule of late, she certainly deserves a holiday and she will have no shortage of vacation choices as she flicks her famous feather duster and opens Northern Ireland’s annual celebration of travel, tourism and temptation. Whatever her personal preference, she’ll certainly find her dream break here, with three shows in one: Holiday World, The Caravan & Motorhome Show and (new this year) The Angling Ireland Show.

Relaxing clearly doesn’t come easily to this whirlwind workaholic. Kim who was born in Eastney, near Portsmouth, owes her early inspiration to her grandmother who cleaned schools for a living as well as making her own home gleam. Kim's first job after leaving school at 15, was in a fashion store, ironing the clothes that would be displayed in the window. When she moved to Liverpool she took her first live-in cleaning role before tackling jobs in a toy factory, a holiday camp, and as a beautician, social worker and model for a clothes catalogue.
Kim made her television debut when she launched a handmade knitwear company and modelled her range on Pebble Mill At One, working alongside designer Jeff Banks, but it was twenty years before she would become a household name … and a Household Goddess with How Clean Is Your House?
Partnered with Aggie Mackenzie, Kim added blonde bombshell glamour (and a dash of plain speaking!) to the previously dull world of household chores. The programme was not only an instant success in the UK, but also in America. Their book, How Clean Is Your House?, was published in 2003 and immediately became a best-seller. The television series, Too Posh to Wash, followed in 2003 and the subsequent book jumped into the Best Sellers List. In 2006 the dynamic duo launched their Cleaning Bible.
In 2006, Kim revealed another side of her life with the publication of her autobiography, Unbeaten, the frank and emotional story of her difficult childhood.
Hundreds of exhibitors are already getting their stands and displays ready for the 2010 show …. making sure everything is up to Kim’s exacting standards! The show, now in its nineteenth year, is expected to bring out the bargain hunters as the travel and tourism sector unveils its answers to the Credit Crunch.

Show owner and organiser Edmund Hourican says, “Value is clearly one of the Big Themes of Holiday World 2010. Everyone wants to make the most of their holiday budget and the industry has come up trumps with an amazing array of special offers, valued added deals and early booking discounts. Shopping around has never been more important to holiday-makers and, of course, that’s where Holiday World comes into its own: you can check out the competition and get expert advice all under one roof, and enjoy a great family day out at the same time.”

You could be forgiven for assuming that the Credit Crunch is driving holiday budgets relentlessly downwards. Not true, as Edmund Hourican points out. He says, “Northern Irish people love their holidays and they are prepared to invest in them. The top end of the travel market remains vibrant here with cruises, long haul and luxury travel all doing good business. We can expect the new and exotic destinations premiered at Holiday World to fare extremely well with the Province’s discerning travellers.

“Northern Ireland holidaymakers also enjoy an enduring love affair with camping and caravanning, whether at home or abroad. For many it’s the ideal family holiday and their investment in a really top class motorhome, caravan or mobile home unlocks many years of memorable vacation.

“For others the big attraction at Holiday World 2010 will be the addition of the well established and ever-popular Angling Ireland show, giving us a great long weekend of three-shows-in-one. Angling is famously this country’s biggest participation sport so we can expect many dedicated anglers, but it’s also a chance for the rest of us to discover the appeal of fishing, whether it’s on the banks of a local river or wrestling with marlin off a foreign shore!
“My advice to anyone who is fed up with the near arctic weather is to come up to the King’s Hall to chase away those Winter Blues. Whether you’re booking or browsing, this is the opportunity to step off the winter streets and into a world of dream destinations!”

The Belfast Telegraph Holiday World Show 2011 runs in the King’s Hall, Belfast, from 1pm to 9pm on Friday 21st January and from 11am to 5.30pm on Saturday 22nd and Sunday 23rd January. Admission is £6 for adults, £4 for Senior Citizens, and £3 for Students. A special Family Ticket for two adults and up to four children is available for £12.
